Beginnings...

Oh how cliche. Not only is this the beginning of my blog, it is the beginning of my job as a CA on campus. Not exactly a huge 'start over' kind of moment, but a beginning none the less. Excited about my new opportunity does not slightly begin to describe how I feel. I was going to have to take out my first loan for room and board, but this wonderful position has shrunk my $50,000/year education to a $500 bill.

Now, once I started to think about how lucky I am in that aspect, other incidents began to pop into my mind. I know so many girls that date toads trying to find prince charming. Luckily, I only had to kiss a few and now I feel like cinderella, minus the expiration date. Not all girls are looking, I understand that, but I do know several that are.

Now that brings me to the next thing I'm incredibly grateful for, my friends. I know its so wrong to say this, but the majority of my SMU friend just don't measure up to the girls and boys of Scurry. I can't lie, I do have some amazing friends at SMU, but there's just a different type of connection. I guess I just like to come home and laugh about who drove who's car and how it ended up. There are exceptions, of course. There are definitely a handful of girls that I talk to about everything on campus. Quality not quantity, you say? I wish it were that easy. Ah, this is turning into another post entirely, so I'll save the story and leave it with simply stating that I had an amazing weekend with Katie and Skylar catching up and having fun, making new memories that we'll laugh about next summer if we all come home.
